A great perk of being a student at PAC is our opportunity to work with amazing designers. Jessica Bobillot in costumes, Jeff Forbes with lighting, Hal Logan with sound, Chris Mikolavich, our every constant technical director, and the fabulous Tim Stapleton as our scenic designer. As a student also interested in a career in theatrical design, I have been so fortunate to work with Tim Stapleton in painting and dressing the sets for the shows thus far in our season. I loved working with him in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and you better believe that when he asked if I was interested in helping again for Sense and Sensibilty, I jumped right at the opportunity. Tim is amazing, to say the very least. He is not only a fun person to be around, he is an amazing teacher. He has spent just about all his life teaching, and is phenomenal at it. He builds truly amazing worlds for his actors, with such careful consideration of what the audience wants and what the actors need.
So this post is a shout out to all the design teams out there. When you are sitting in the audience, take a moment to look in the program at the designers. And I don’t want to give away too many secrets about our newest set (you’ll just have to come see it yourself!), but I can tell you this- it is fabulous! I enjoyed helping to create it just as much as I have enjoyed acting in it!
Samie is an all around artist mastering in acting, music, writing and visual arts. In Sense and Sensibility, She truly brings the world alive on stage with her presence and her work behind the scenes. Make sure to check out this Goddess of the arts in our show.
