We had a great first read on Tuesday and I think we're all really excited to get going on this project. Elizabeth is a great director, and her vision for this piece is honestly so beautiful and human and touching and inspiring (do you want to come see the show yet?? You should). I can't wait to shape this into something tangible and share it with Portland. I know this is just a little Shakespearean comedy, but we are dealing with some big themes here, and a whole lot of huge, earth shattering love. Midsummer has always been my favorite Shakespearean comedy, and this week has only strengthened that feeling of passion and devotion.
Table work is a really important step to starting any play - we spend a lot of time sitting and reading and talking and discovering before we can put anything on its feet on the stage. An idea to tempt you with - How does the harshness of the human condition freeze the human heart?
Hannah Quigg is a Second Year Student at PAC. She's having a great time learning how to use The Internet (blogging). She spends most of her free time drinking coffee, talking about ghosts, and instagraming her cat.
